Hi! Happy fireworks night!!! :) We have had a bit of a baking rest the last couple of weeks but after lots of scooting and playing in the park this afternoon, we were feeling chilly and fancied a little treat so we thought we'd try something new.

Now, I was actually a little bit naughty!! I have bought The Little Coeliac a cookery book for Christmas. It's her first ever cookery book and I am very excited!!!! I keep having little sneaky peeks at it and today, I couldn't resist any longer, so I took a picture of a recipe and went for it!

The book is Nosh - Gluten-Free Baking

and, from the little peeks I keep having, it looks as though there are loads of great recipes!!! We're going to a friend's house for lunch tomorrow and I know that she is baking something chocolatey so I went for banana cake.

The book is beautifully illustrated - I can't stand it when you don't have a picture of what you're making - how are you supposed to have any idea as to whether what you've made any where near resembles what it should do?!?!

Anyway, aside from the picture, it tells you what each piece of cake costs, the difficulty, time and whether you can freeze it. I'm really looking forward to reading this properly when I can fully open the pages without guilt!! :)

I'm sure there will be plenty more blogs to come on that!

The recipe was very simple to follow and worked fantastically. The result was a wonderfully light sponge which tasted absolutely scrumptious!!

I'm really looking forward to trying some more of the recipes in this book. Next up I think might be red velvet cup cakes or maybe butterfly cakes - a have very fond memories of making them as a child!
